  • “As a remote-first company, creating a sense of community is critical. We do this asynchronously, virtually, and in-person.

    Asynchronously, we have added tools and channels to Slack that foster more connection. This ranges from sharing TV shows (#tv) and family/fur baby updates (#cute) to quizzes and trivia. Virtually, we host a monthly no-agenda happy hour with a chance to chat about non-work things and have some fun with icebreakers, games, and activities. During our twice-weekly standups, we carve out time in the agenda to talk about people's days and share personal stories.

    We also make an effort to get the entire team together for an offsite 1-2 times a year. We just held our second offsite in 9 months this past May, where the team traveled to meet in-person for a week and work together, brainstorm, and make casual connections after hours. We’re looking forward to the next one at the end of this summer.
